‘How to Marry a Millionaire’ has to be one of my all-time favorite movies. I first saw the movie in tenth grade while on a school trip to South Carolina. I remember all my friends went out for the evening but I stayed in the hotel with a fever. As I sat there, homesick and teenager lonely, I found this lovely little film on tv … in black and white. Since then I have probably viewed the film 40 or 50 times. I can even stream this straight from netflix now, which means I am sure to watch it more and more – something that may just drive my poor husband bonkers. But I just can’t help it! I love the fashion, the silliness and comedic timing of the ladies, the shots of old New York and the old Hollywood glamour that just can’t be found in movies now. Next raining Sunday, give this flick a try. You will love it.

Friday Fashion Break: Bottega Veneta Resort 2012 Runway

I want all of these pieces. From the hair, to the shoes. Including the glasses, the bags and the hairdos … most especially that bright and cheery bag in the first look and the color-blocking shoes in the last.

Fashion {& Grace} Icons: The Gilmore Girls – Are you a Lorelai or a Rory?

Several years after this fast-talking show ended and even though I have seen every episode at least twice, I still find myself unable to skip a rerun. These girls are everything I respect in a woman – they are smart, confident, avid readers, adventurers and loyal friends. I love the wit, the humor, the antics, and the fashion of the Gilmore Girls. However, no matter how many episodes I watch, there is always one question I ask myself … Am I more a Rory or a Lorelai? Well, wonder no longer …

QUESTION 1: How do you care for your hair?

A. Ponytail and bangs?
B. Loose and curly?

Are you a Rory or a Lorelai?

Fashion {& Grace} Icon: Amanda Peet a la ‘A Lot Like Love’

My style, on most days is what one would kindly call ‘casually approachable’. I don’t have a fancy pants job and thus am lately more casual than fashionable. This is a style I should definetly take up a notch. And Amanda Peet in the adorably corny yet fabulous ‘A Lot Like Love’ pulls off this look perfectly – don’t you think?

Friday Fashion Break: Vivienne Tam Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear

This week is the first time this season when I can say  it is really sticky out … you know that step outside, loose your breath, automatic glistening, pull your hair into a pony-tail, ugh humidity. And when that time comes – I begin to yearn for light, airy, comfortable {yet chic} summer-time faire. Thus I share with you, Vivienne Tam.

Portrait of a Professional: Fashion Illustrator Jessica Durrant {+ a fab giveaway!/now closed}

I have always been super envious of people who can draw. I mean I can doodle, and create patterns, and design abstracts – but actual realism in art, I can not do. And people – I can not draw faces. I think that is why I am so drawn to artists who can truly capture a character and make them come to life – like Jessica Durrant can. Case and point:
